Alexander the Great vs. Darius the Great

Life 2500 years ago was nothing like the one we know now. Alexander the Great vs. Darius the Great explores this life from so long ago. A time when the Persian Empire was merely a kingdom of empty desert and rock.
Spread across thousand of kilometres, Persepolis was the core of the kingdom. It was here that Darius stood in control. It’s been said that Ancient Persia was the predecessor of the Roman Empire. To compare its magnitude, modern Germany is tens times smaller than Ancient Persia was.
The Greek cities were promised prosperity and peace by the Persian kings. This was a promise that came with consequences. Their Greek political sovereignty was taken from them by these Persian Kings. It’s no surprise it damaged the dignity, the yearned for freedom, a freedom no longer permitted to them.
There was one man who was determined to restore this freedom to the Greek people. Alexander the Great would stop at nothing to make sure he turned Greek’s dream of freedom into reality. But at what cost? What would he sacrifice to secure this independence?
This documentary will enthral you as Alexander the Great achieves more in his short life than any other leader before his time.
