Battle of the Brains is an extraordinary documentary featured on the BBC 2. It questions the theories surrounding how we measure intelligence. Can an IQ test really be the most accurate way to determine if someone is brilliant?

By gathering seven people, all experts in their own fields, Battle of the Brains gives them a series of tests to decide who is the most intelligent. Examined in the series are people from all ends of the spectrum. Nathan Hasselbauer, a Wall Street Trader with an IQ of 167 to Stella Vine, an artist who left school at the young age of 13. While the IQ test is one part of the string of tests performed it will not be the only factor that determines their intelligence.

In this documentary they search for confirmation of intelligence in the brain, in our upbringing and in our genes. They put to the test the latest and most controversial theories to determine these seven individuals mental capacity. From attempting to remove a cork from the inside of an empty bottle to who can determine the most uses for a sock, the results will amaze you. I agree there a different levels of intelligence and an IQ test is not the only way to measure brilliance.
