      THE A GENERICK WHITE SHARK.ICON.NEWSPIX(c)

The BBC dives into the ocean and goes face to face with Great White Sharks. If you’re like me, you are terrified of Great White Sharks. Ever since Jaws made these huggable, loveable white fish into ocean terrorists on screen the Great White has become one of the most famous villains of the natural world. This documentary clears a lot up.

South African naturalist Mike Rutzen is obsessed with sharks and the perfect host for our adventure. He has never seen the movie Jaws, which is probably why he likes them – which makes me wonder if Steven Spielberg has single handily done more damage to the Great White’s reputation than anyone else in history.

Mike Rutzen swims with Great Whites and he doesn’t use a cage. In fact, he has spent SO much time with them that he knows what they’re thinking. This sixth sense lets him avoid danger and sense when they are agitated or hungry.

The camera takes us into a seal ambush and Mike swims along to take us into the mind of the Great White Shark (and, thankfully, not into their stomachs!)
