It follows the construction of the Perdido Spar in the Gulf of Mexico. It is the world’s largest Oil Platform. Sitting in deeper water than any other oil rig before it, in an ocean that is over 2 kilometres deep. The capabilities of this oil rig is fascinating.

Watch as this floating factory drills in any direction. It can produce enough oil each day to fill 132,000 cars with gas. Big, Bigger, Biggest uncovers the role in which robots played to complete this deep-ocean construction.

With the recent BP oil disaster in Mexico (a fascinating documentary that I am sure is in the works), this documentary will have you questioning whether these oil rigs are a great idea. Do the pros outweigh the cons?
