Posted by: Documentary-Log.com

Documentary examining the the events leading up to the Israeli war of Independence in 1949, its continuing impact on Arab/Israeli relations and the implications for the Middle East peace process.
Sixty years ago Israel established itself in the wake of the British Mandate of Palestine.
For the Palestinians, expelled from their homes in the process, the Israeli War of Independence is still known as The Catastrophe (al-Nakba).
Jeremy Bowen, the BBC’s Middle East editor examines the events leading up to the conflict, the war itself and the lasting legacy for the Middle East.

So Sad!!! In this everlasting war, every side is right, and every side is wrong! But still there is a side that won. And if it would have been the other way around it would have been just as horrible. The winner have a responsibility for the future of peace. But the loser should try to seek it too. And what really make me mad is that we are all stuck in that situation as well. And why??? What does our faith ( oh! that’s the problem, Faith) have to do with Israel. Why are we still influence by these civilization of rocks, sand and oasis. If the jews are so preoccupied by there ancestry and their origins ( And they have all the right to do so), then why are we not doing the same thing as well. If it is just a reason of winners and losers then that is call history. The roman destroyed our european culture 18 centuries ago and no one is braggin about that anymore. Time as done it’s job of erasing all memory of our ancient culture. That’s civilization and history crushing us together. So if Israel won, then they won history. And if the palestinian revolt, it’s called terrorism. That’s it????? Then it is really sad!!!!
excellent synopsis.
