      This epic documentary film chronicles the life of Bob Dylan. What impact did he have on American popular music and culture as we know it today. Director Martin Scorsese concentrates on a short period of this icon’s career. Featuring Dylan’s arrival in New York in 1961 to his motorcycle accident in 1966, this film is a must-see for all music lovers.

      Bob Dylan: No Direction Home describes his rise to fame. From songwriter and folk singer to the controversy that arose when he made the crossover to a more rock style of music. The picture features fascinating interviews, dramatic performances and press-conference footage. Dylan himself is featured for an extensive interview. As well, many people who worked with the legendary artist during the five year time span.

      Scorsese was given Dylan’s permission to access hours of rare and uncut footage that had never before been made public. Such footage included Dylan behind the scenes in the recording studio and series of extraordinary live performances.

      In April 2006, the film received a Peabody Award. In January 2007 it picked up a Columbia-duPont Award. Martin Scorsese also won an award for his work on the film, taking home a Grammy Award for Best Long-Form Video. Well deserved awards for such an incredible film.
