Back when Kim Jong Il ruled this country (before his death in December of 2011), the North Korean army had the distinction of being the 5th largest army and is believed to have plutonium as its nuclear weapon.

North Korea’s military power is built on conformity, reclusiveness and exclusivity. There are some who have tried to escape its harsh conditions, often causing their lives.

The team from National Geographic was able to enter the premises of the North Korean army in one of the medical missions. This was a dangerous undertaking but the camera and crew were able to capture North Korea and produced this documentary for the world to see.
Now, Rodrigo Dorfman revisits his own exile through the eyes and skins of four women: a Taiwanese pianist haunted by nightmares of her past; an Afro Caribbean Whirling Dervish on a pilgrimage to Turkey; a Latina artist mourning the destruction of her community and a young American woman caught in a web of spiritual abuse. This sweeping movie is deeply personal: four continents, four reasons for exile, but the theme remains the same: you can take the person out of their land but you can’t take the land out of the exiled.
This documentary explores the fact that Wal-Mart is able to offer low-priced goods and still have hundreds of employees and stores to maintain and support.

Directed by Robert Greenwald, the documentary is an expose of sorts, revealing that while Wal-Mart makes its customers happy, its treatment of its employees is a different story altogether.
