The remains of three-foot-tall humans are discovered on a remote Indonesian island. These tiny people seem to be from some low budget science fiction movie – but these are our ancestors! The entire population mysteriously disappeared and their remains are only now being discovered. What do these little people of Flores tell us about ourselves and our ancestors?

There were many lies being told and these are exposed in spades.   Films about how to survive an atomic bomb going off in your classroom by huddling together near the wall.  In another sequence, a pack of pigs are dressed in Army uniforms and left to die at “Ground Zero” during a nuclear test to see if human beings (who purportedly have the same skin consistency as pigs) could survive. The Atomic Cafe goes on for too long. I recommend watching the beginning and then moving on to something else. Which is what you can easily do on Documentary-Log.com!

Beating the Bomb is an independent, non commercial, grassroots documentary. It has been screened in over 15 festivals worldwide and won an award for ‘best documentary, aglet award’ at The Red Rock Film Festival in Utah, USA.

It was born out of the desire to rebalance the mainstream, status quo reporting on a very important issue in politics, in fact, the underpinning power instrument –nuclear weapons.

In a world where 800 million don’t have access to safe drinking water – will they get their water before we spend trillions more building more weapons in the name of ‘security, creating jobs and economic growth’?

I really enjoyed this documentary – and, as someone who has gone to Jerusalem, I loved learning more about the generations who walked in our shadows.  Whether you are an atheist or an ultra orthodox Jew, Jerusalem humbles with its sheer history and reverence.

Every now and then, we see aircrafts hovering over the sky followed by a murky haze of cloud that suggest these are not merely coming from the jet’s engines.
