PBS takes us behind the scenes of China. It explores how a country of 1.3 billion people is rapidly growing, while it faces staggering obstacles. The country is quickly becoming more and more powerful, yet many of its people remain secluded inside of it. China From the Inside offers viewers an unusual look inside the country, the people and the institutions that make it as powerful as it is.

The series is divided into four 60-minute parts. Power and the People the first in this unique series examines how the Communist Party applies such control over such a vast population. It questions village elections and its intentions. This part of the documentary explores whether the Party can put a stop to the widespread corruption and maintain their people’s trust. It features commentary from a variety of Chinese people and their perspective on the problems surrounding the country.

Women of the Country, the second part of series takes an in-depth look into the life of a Chinese woman. It brings to light why they have one of the highest suicides rates in the world. It shows how many of these women are starting to fight for their rights and futures. China From the Inside showcases the discrimination the Xinjiang’s Muslim women suffer from and misfortune Tibetan women face.

I believe in communism. The apolishment of currency, everyone living equal and recieving the same amount of resources. But where do you draw the line with those who contribute more and those who contribute less? Should a criminal, a person who only wishes to murder people and destroy civiliation get the same as those who contribute a great deal to it? Very interesting topic. I guess its easy for Star Trek and the earth in that sci-fi tale to do it when you can replicate food when ever you want it. lol.

You cannot set the ground for a society on the line of conduct of the “outliers”. Also, I strongly doubt on the “equality” concept in communist systems. I have known many chinese and they say people living in the contry side are very poor as compared to those from the cities. Everyone wants to make money with China and they oversee that it is a bloody dictatorship with almost 5 million political prisoners, world champion in death penalty and other factors which limit very much personal freedoms.
