In this BBC Horizon documentary Professor Brian Cox poses the question, “Do you know what time it is? Do us that seem that an easy question with an easier answer, as we all look at our watches, the clock, even in the top right corner of my computer screen as I type this. But, do we really know what time it is?

Cox is a particle physicist professor who ventures out to examine the concept of time. He travels to Mexico to visit the ancient Mayan pyramids. It is here where the Maya build the temples to time. In his travels he discovers that a day, as we believe is never actually 24 hours. The film features Cox’s encounter with Earth’s very own Director of Time.

His adventure continues to the beginning of time. Cox travels beyond within the realms of the string theory and examines the very limit of time. His discoveries will surprise you as he reveals that we travel through time at the speed of light. Cox also reveals the experience in which we feel as the passing of time could actually be an illusion.

Do You Know What Time It Is? is an interesting look into time and our perspective on it. Well worth watching.

One of the best documentaries ever created about cosmology, multiple universes en time. Really recommended!

Great documentary! All the American networks got something to learn from BBC and this guy.

I wrote a small paper about time during this show (it wasn't planned, nor do I study anything like this, it was just spontanious ideas and conclusions) and I hope I can make something sensible out of it. It's pretty much about time being an illusion.

Documentaries and books really open the mind. I spent years wasting all my time on computer games, and my brain got dulled by it. Recently I've read a lot and watched a lot of docs (quit all that's called computer games), and I get so many more ideas. I've writen like 15 pages of questions and conclusions about philosophy and science which have appeared in my head. I'm so glad to have my immagination and sense back again! =)

Always keeping a piece of paper and a pen nearby is greatly recommended.
