not all pitbulls are trained just for fighting…. this documentary only shows what really makes the pibull bad… if only you could know the true facts about this excellent breed, especially its temperament. pitbull is the kindest dog ever.

I agree with concerned, I do not own a pitbull but have encountered many and they are lovely dogs. This breed needs to be understood and have owners that respect the fact they need to be handled correctly, but there are evil people that exploit this breed's capability of fighting.

You could teach a labrador to fight in much the same way as this they pose just as much of a threat to humans as pitbulls do. Maybe not in a dog fight, but against a child any dog is dangerous! It is down to the owners not the breed!

    • Pitowner

This is ridiculous, this documentary is nothing more then media propaganda against pitbulls. They are only exposing pitbulls owned by irresponsible owners. If you watch the documentary "Off the Chain" They look at both sides of the pitbull. They also prove that a pitbull is a dog like any other. They will do as they are trained to do. Its up to the owner to train them to be well behaved and social dogs.

Word… the nature of a dog has nothing to do with it's personality. Owner responsibility and aggressive abandonement is the real issue.

Pit Bulls are not the only dogs that attack humans, from this doc, we don't know for a fact, what kind of dog attacked the little girls. They never show the dogs. Assuming and calling them Pit Bulls is part of the prejudice which is literally killing these animals.

My pits have better manners and a greater willingness to please than any other dog I've come across. In my experience, because pits were once bred to fight at their owners express command, they are more focused than other breeds on precisely what their people want. A marvelous trait in any dog, and one which is tragically exploited by irresponsible owners.

All dogs are dangerous if not properly supervised and trained, no small child should ever be left alone in the presence of any dog (no matter how cute, sweet, or friendly that dog may be).

i have a pitbull and all i can say is that you should put the owners in jail, not the poor dogs. the owners are making them this way. my dog plays with children, greets everyone and never EVER barked at another dog. maybe because i treat his as a family member and not a dick enlarger lite most do

Wow! I watched this documentary while lying in bed with my 5-year-old American Staffordshire terrier resting her head on my chest. I now realize that she is a vicious, horrible killing machine that will sooner or later murder or maim countless numbers of children. I could have even been next!

As you can imagine, this came as quite a shock to me since she has never exhibited any aggressive behavior and we've travelled together to more than 20 countries. Thank you for opening my eyes, idiot pseudo-journalist!

so very true. I was bit on the face as a child by a BLACK LAB, everyone's family dog. (some neighborhood children had been teasing it while it was on a chain while our fence was being repaired)

We had to have him put down and my parents got a pit bull puppy. She is now 16 years old and the best most loving dog we ever had. Pit bulls aren't bad by nature, it's the way they are treated. We treat our pit like a member of the family and she has always been the most obedient, well mannered dog.

it amazes me that every comment sees the film as a diatribe against pitbulls. In fact, it is an expose of people who breed pits for fighting. There is talk of how dangerous the breed CAN be but the blame is overwhelming placed on the dog fighters rather than the dogs

except for a few instances of showing dogfights, which they make clear the animals are bred and groomed to do by bad people, all the shots of pitts show them being very docile and friendly.

Of course the training and treatment of the dogs is the main cause of their bad reputation. But it is also a fact that terriers in general, and pitts in particular, have an inbred instinct to kill. This is what made them (historically) a popular breed – they earned their keep by keeping down vermin and helping the hunter.

I don't believe an entire breed (a living creature) should be outlawed either, but to claim this film is just a bunch of lies and propaganda against pitts makes your one sided position no better than what you accuse others of.
