Written and directed by Ben Mole, Egypt’s Ten Greatest Discoveries is a fascinating documentary on this mysterious culture by the Discovery Channel. The film is hosted by Zahi Hawass and features an extensive list of the top 10 discoveries of Ancient Egyptian artifacts and sites. These are of great cultural significance to this country. With the help of some of the world’s leading Egyptologists, Hawass compiled this list.

Each of the ten discoveries revolves around a part of everyday life in Ancient Egypt. Six of these remarkable revelations have an emphasis placed on them, exploring how they have managed to influence modern society. Egypt’s 10 Greatest Discoveries comes to a close by examining how the ancient practice of mummification has influenced modern-day surgeries. Both of these procedures share many of the same techniques.

The ten greatest discoveries are as follows:

      • Khufu Ship
      • Unfinished obelisk
      • The Great Pyramid
      • Tomb of Tutankhamun
      • Deir el-Medina

      • Lost Tempe of Akhmim
      • The Greater Temple of Abu Simbel
      • Secret Mummy Cave
      • Valley of the Golden Mummies

Always amazed by Egyptian history. This video was no less than the excitement I had watching the King Tut exhibits. Great narration. Very convincing theories.

This would be a really good documentary if it was not for that annoying bloody music over it. Why do discovery and others do that?
