Fake Trade takes its viewers deep inside this ever-growing industry. It examines the multi-billion dollar business that is affecting the real products and brand they are imitating.

We’ve all seen the person on the corner selling the “Rolex’s” and we can’t forget the “Ray-Ban” sunglasses, the “Prada” jeans or the “Coach” purse, but do you buy them? They are hard to resist buying considering they look as close to the real thing as they do. The difference they are usually at least half the price. For those unable to spend $400 on a purse, this is a steal (literally).

This documentary is divided into a two part series that explores how these knock-offs have become so popular and are dominating several markets. It examines how the brands are struggling to fight back. Not only are the workers exploited, but so are the many consumers who buy these products. Fake Products reveals that counterfeiting goes a lot further than just purses and sunglasses, as it has even made it into the prescription medicine industry.
