Climate change is something that is being across the world. It’s no secret that if global warming isn’t stopped the effects to our world as we know it could be catastrophic. With that in mind, several engineers, experts and scientists are presenting some pretty large-scale and radical ideas that could potentially save our planet from disaster. The down-side to these ideas is that the side effects remain unknown, but we may soon have no other choice but to try them.

Five Ways to Save the World presents some of these radical ideas that have been proposed. The first three being to reduce the power of the sun, hoping the result would end in cooling the planet. Roger Angel, a professor from Arizona suggests putting an enormous glass sunshade in space, hoping to deflect a percentage of the sun’s rays back into space. This is one idea to hopefully reduce the sun’s powerful rays.

Another issue to be tackled the excessive amount of carbon dioxide. Ian Jones, a Sydney engineer professors suggests feeding plankton with gallons of fertilizer, making it grow and absorb the the carbon dioxide from the air. Meanwhile, Professor Klaus Lackner from New York has created a machine to capture carbon dioxide.

This informative documentary offers Five Ways to Save the World, but what if we’re already too late?

this is stupid. blocking the sun? what kind of idiots give this idea serious consideration? the problem is carbon dioxide and we need more plants – not fewer. if you block the sun, how the hell is photosynthesis gonna do its job? this would make things worse, not better. the sun is not the enemy. it is what we have done to the atmosphere that needs corrected. let's focus on going green people… not on ideas that could trigger a cold and barren wasteland

I really had to lough 5 way of what ??
blocking the sun ? sending poulterers in the upper sphere? metallic trees ? what next….?

it is so simple just cut the problem ….and you got the solution…small cars or electric cars make a one day a week no car drive around the world and you would cut 1/7 of the pollution over night ! or have one day even numbers plate cars drive and the next OD number on weekends and so you have 52 days a year of less pollution..

how about just re plant the tree., forest simple and proven science

If we replant the forest we cut down in the past that will sure help ….

WE DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH OF AN IMPACT!!!!!
Do some actual research on this topic and you'll see for yourself. I'm not mocking by any means, I started finding out all I could to try and figure out what the problem was as well. Only to find there is no problem. Why should we try and keep the earth as it was (climate wise) when we were born? It was much colder 150 years ago, much warmer 1000 years ago, and everywhere in between going back in time. I totally agree with finding better energy sources and not polluting the earth, this is the only home I have. But not because in 50 years the land will be underwater because of hairspray. Because of all the other effects that hill topping, open pit mining, drilling, dumping and mass urban population have. The atmosphere is the last thing you should be worrying about.
