Genghis Khan

Who is Genghis Khan? Was he really a tyrant, heartless man? Or could he have merely been a misunderstood man with a vision? Most think of this man as a brutal barbarian who murdered millions in his mission for power. Genghis Khan, a BBC documentary is hoping to change the reputation of notorious warlord. The aim is to change our view of him to a heroic figure who against all odds, achieved greatness.
Most know his name, but very few really know the story behind Genghis. The history of this man is saddening. He suffered from a violent childhood and his father was murdered. Growing up in an unforgiving environment of the Mongolian Steppe, was not easy. So, how did he rise above his tragedies? How did a man raised in poverty, an outcast end up becoming the great Khan.
Genghis Khan examines his story, like never before. With the combination of live-action footage shot in Mongolia with the same software used in the Lord of the Rings; CGI, this is a documentary that will excited you. The BBC has managed to recreate battle scenes like we’ve never seen them before. An impressive way of presenting the story of how Genghis took over an empire greater than the Roman Empire at its very peak.
