Some people find it more difficult than others to find a partner in life, some even find it impossible. For those people there are several options made available to them. Dating services, escort services, online dating, blind dates, and the lists goes on. This documentary, Guys and Dolls examines the diverse world of alternative partners.This a unique documentary, as I am yet to find another quite like it.

Guys and Dolls will reveal how over 10 years ago a small factory based in California began making these alternative partners. These alternative partners, also known as real dolls can be tailored made to suit each individuals taste. The film will reveal there are some pretty exotic requests. From an 80 year old granny doll to an excessive amount of pubic hair, the company can cater to your needs.

There is currently over 3,000 real dolls across the world. They provide their partners with a certain companionship that real women are unable too. Each doll costs approximately 4,000 pounds. The real dolls featured in this film are extremely realistic and not anything like your average doll you may find in a novelty shop.

I must warn you there is some adult content in this documentary.

I think this goes to show that as human beings, we aren't solitary creatures. We are in need of companionship and a sense of being wanted, regarldess of it's form. I will admit, it seemed strange initially, but who I am to judge?
I think this documentary said a lot more about human nature than it did about lifestyle choices, or dudes trying to get laid unsuccesfuly.

Also, I found it particularly interesting, as I am sure many of you did, how in the beginning it seemed the Texas guy used the dolls as a buffer for his lack of "real" human contact, but in the end, when he had that human contact, it was the dolls that drove his girlfriend away.

After watching this video I was left feeling ambivalent. It is very sad that these men feel so alienated and fearful that they choose to have relationships with inanimate objects rather, which can never truly return affection, rather than having relationships with organic people. However, each of them men also reported unrealistic expectations for what they would want in a partner in addition to unwillingness to go through the struggles which, inevitably, make up human relationships. As a woman I feel relieved that these men have found a way to satisfy their needs without imposing their unrealistic expectations on any real, feeling women. As a human I feel sad these men have chosen to pursue connections with objects which will reinforce their negative self concept (they are unlovable) as well as alienate them from being able to form bonds with real people who could help them realize that they are worthy of love.

Before watching this film, the only dolls I'd ever seen were the cheap blow up style. I assumed they were joke items and would wonder who'd buy one for sexual use. This film showed me the hurt and heartache these men endured any why they felt they needed a companion doll. I do hope, however, they seek therapy and realize their own self worth; that they can build healthy, loving, lasting relationships with living women. All relationships are a mix of give and take. I'm sure out there are women who would love you with all their hearts. They may not have the manufactured beauty of the doll or its passive nature but real women can give you so much more. Don't give up hope. You'll find your Ms Right if you'll be willing to open up and accept her as human, warts and all ;). Good luck to you.

This is so sad… they have only one purpose in life: to have sex and nothing more… and that's the reason why women avoid these kind of guys… maybe they ( women ) can be tricked once, twice but it won't happen forever. It is normal to be young and feel the need to experience stuff like sex. parties and crazy things but in time you grow up and think more about more serious things like a career, having friends and a social life and more important and, in my opinion is the most important thing in life, having a family, procreating. I would agree with this documentary if at least one of the guys would admit that the "real doll" is not what they would want from life. This is very interesting but quite unsettling. I can't help but think that these men suffer from much of the same disorders that some of the women in My Fake Baby and Beccah Beushausen. I was really surprised by this documentary. I went into it with the mindset that these men were sick and I was going to be disgusted by their stories, but I wasn't. Instead I found myself feeling compassion for them. My heart ached for these human beings that had such low self-esteem that they had given up on finding companionship. It was really quite sad.

In a sense if a human being can relate to a tree as much as he can relate to a human being, that is real compassion. These men are relating to a doll, which to the ordinary person will seem disturbing.

They should search for friendships from men and women, as far as their sexual expression is concerned, using porn, masturbating with or without objects is nobody’s business but their own. Just as many may see homosexuality as a taboo, it is still a human right, they have that right, this is no different, they are hurting no one and they do not deserve to be emotionally bashed on.
