How Many People Can Live on Planet Earth?

How many people do you think can live on this planet? What is the current population of our world? How does planet Earth’s ever-growing community effect our natural resources? Is it possible for their to be too many people living on Earth? What if there weren’t enough civilians on the planet? This Horizon special documentary examines whether our planet is nearing a potential population crisis. With the assistance of Sir David Attenborough, a naturalist, they attempt to the answer the complex question “How Many People Can Live on Planet Earth?”
Sir David has had an extensive career and throughout he has witnessed the human population more than double. Going from 2.5 billion in 1950 to the ever-growing population of nearly seven billion. So what does this mean for us as a society and our planet as a whole? Sir David examines the effects surrounding the rapid growth.
How Many People Can Live on Earth? Sir David discovers on his journey that although the majority of population growth will stem from the developing worlds, it is actually the lifestyle enjoyed by so many in the West that will actually impact Earth. Some leading professionals even claim the in the UK consumers sometimes use, as much as two and a half time their fair share of our planet’s resources. An unnerving fact when it is considered how the population is still growing.
