Whether or not E.T. really exists in our universe is one of the hottest ongoing topics within astronomy. Between the many theories surrounding alien life and the full-feature films that make them seem all too real, we can’t help but wonder if they really do exist. Scientists are constantly searching for other solar systems, other planets with lifelike forms similar to Earth.

There has been a lot of talk surrounding the end of Earth as we know it and that, as well puts a rush on astronomers to locate another planet in which human life could live. A miniature version of solar system has been uncovered but what does it mean? How will it affect the potential of life elsewhere in our universe. Ian Morison discusses the search for these other inhabitable worlds in his lecture The Search for Other Worlds.

He explores the possibility of life existing elsewhere and ponders what we will do once we have found it. Could you imagine an alien species, what would they look like? Would they be intelligent? Is it possible we would be able to interact with each other peacefully or could aliens really be like they are often portrayed on the big-screen? Unfortunately until they are discovered these questions will remain unanswered.
