What would Earth be like if there was no moon? It lights up our night sky and many feel when it is full, there are several strange occurrences. Almost as though a full moon brings out our crazy side. I’ve been told in the past by friends who work in hospitals that night’s when the moon is at its brightest, emergency rooms are fullest.  That being said, without a moon would our emergency room be empty, not likely as chances are they wouldn’t even exist.

If We Had No Moon examines how without it, humans wouldn’t exist at all. Life, as we know it would not even be imagined. Life, in general if it had started at all, would currently be in its earliest stages of evolution. Our days would be over in a short four hours rather than 24. Winds would be blowing constantly at a hurricane force. Earth would be covered in a dense and toxic atmosphere similar to that of Venus.

Fortunately approximately 50 millions years following the formation of the solar system, our proto-planet was struck by a celestial body more than double the size of the red planet, Mars. This hit is what formed our moon. This one hour docu-special, If We had No Moon will give viewers a look at what our world was like before the moon was created. It will also examine what Earth would be like if the moon were to disappear.
