MARS Dead or Alive

The Mars rover landings in the year 2004 are especially crucial to science and history as it has given scientists concrete data on what is in the Red Planet. Rovers “Spirit” and “Opportunity” were sent to Mars to gather geological clues and what they were able to take far exceeded scientists expectations.
This documentary presents an interactive tour of what the MER, or Mars Exploration Rover project, were able to discover from our neighboring planet. The rovers were equipped with panoramic camera and sent in photos of what look like rock and soil formation. The rovers also had instruments installed allowing it to collect rock and soil samples, as well as give scientists a close up view of the Martian features — the first in history of mankind. The samples will be brought to Earth for further study, but already, scientists are convinced that once upon a time, Mars was a wet and warm environment able to support life. Is it possible it can still do that today?
Presented by Steve Squyres, the documentary gives us more insights to whether or not Mars is a planet that’s long dead and no longer possible to accommodate inhabitants, or if there’s a chance life here can still exist.
