Me and the Mosque shows the world of Islamic Women within North American society and specifically in Canada.

The documentary contains original (and quite amusing) animation, old footage, and many interviews in mosques and communities. The role of the Muslim woman inside the mosque is something that has come up for debate.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and one of the largest. In North America, women are converting in far greater numbers than men. They are attracted by the teachings of equality in the Koran.  Yet, many mosques force women to pray behind barriers, separate from men, and some do not even permit women to enter the building. This documentary explores both sides of the story and tries to map out and predict the directions within North American Muslim society where the Muslim woman is asserting her identity with Islam.
