MonsterQuest – America’s Loch Ness Monster
MonsterQuest is a documentary series that ran on the History Channel in 2007 until 2010. It’s a show that depicts different type of cryptozoological and paranormal creatures that have been reported all across the world, in the hopes of finding out if they are real or imagined.
This particular video is all about a creator discovered in Lake Champlain in the border between the United States and Canada. The creator has been described as similar to Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster in form, and has been dubbed as Champ.
There were apparently some 300 sightings of this creature, in over centuries. Yet no one has any idea what this actually is. Scientists say that Champ is sort of an plesiosaur, an aquatic reptile that is already extinct.
Champ’s first recorded sighting was as far back as the late 1800′s but it was only in 1977 when an image of it was capture on the camera by an amateur photographer. The image had Champ sticking his neck out of the water.
A sighting was also recored in 2005 by two fishermen who were able to capture Champ on a video. FBI forensics studied this video and concluded that Champ may be part of a family of Beluga Whale, but is specific species remains unknown.
