Start Watching Pandemic 
The recent swine flu and the not so recent bird flu are related to each other in some way. They are both variants of the Influenzavirus A (correct me if I’m wrong). Scientists started to realize early on that these types of viruses not only infect their hosts and subsequently kill them, but were also able to jump from birds to mammals after undergoing certain mutations. In wrong circumstances, the human race could easily be caught unprepared in a terrorizing pandemic. This documentary takes a look at the history and biology of the bird flu, and speculates on what could happen if the Influenzavirus A were to “give birth” to other variants. This documentary was (probably) made before the swine flu outbreak, but it does a good job at carefully analyzing the matter.
