The closest most of us have ever dealt with a psychopath is probably in the movies or a TV show. But according to the experts, psychopaths are everywhere and may even be an active part of our life. Doctors have pegged that for every 100 people, there is one psychopath in the midst. Most of them are hardly someone you would think as going through a mental issue.

To many, psychopaths usually act out by becoming serial killers. And while violence is possible for those with psychotic tendencies, not every psychopath is a killer, and vice versa.

Their psychosis may also be exhibited in the world of a competitive workplace or in a social network. These people display ruthless, destructive and quite manipulative.

This documentary takes a a closer look into the behavioral patterns and techniques that are common among psychopaths. It outlines how doctors can diagnose the behavior using various tested techniques. The documentary also shows us how the brain works, or breaks down, thus developing such a behavior. Can this be treated? What are the measures needed in order to change the behavior of a psychopath?

Featuring interviews and assessments from experts, this documentary is a fascinating study into human behavior.

The 'successful' psychopath – the one who hasn't been caught in a criminal activity is the scary one. And, of course, is THE Holy Grail character of fiction from Doestoevsky to Leonard and Highsmith and, thus, the most interesting for the lay person as opposed to the clinical psychologist. The most available character is the 'industrial psychopath' for study. Just watch out for the "Abyss" effect!!

The introductory spot above of Scientology really touched me..! I am really touched from the spot, is so……. life..!

these brain researchers are pretty simplistic in my mind. They measure brain activity and map some colors and conclude whether you are a psychopath or not. Also they say that you are born being a psychopath because people who grow up in worse conditions turn out fine. I guess in this type of research this is all you can do but in my opinion it is all just speculation and it doesn't prove a thing. The documentary says 1 in 200 in England are psychopath and 1 in 100 in the US. Something is wrong here if you are born with it. Also if 1 in 100 people are psychopaths it hardly seems like a malfunctioning of the brain but rather a rare characteristic of people.

This documentary is full of BS. For all I know any of those pseudo scientists are psychopaths. They don't know anything about criminals they are talking about, their thoughts, their philosophy, their beliefs. What if a person believes that it is not wrong to steal, that it is not wrong to kill (looks like whole US military is psychopathic) is he or she a psychopath? That is the whole problem with this film, they put a psychopath label on anybody who does comprehend with established moral ethics in society. Any of the arguments they present can be easily contradicted with common sense. There is no such thing as psychopaths, only bad people.

Obviously you haven't listened carefully, Patrick. The personality disorder exists and it's important for us to reflect and deal with these facts.

      strassen,

his name is not really patrick bateman, that is a character in a brett easton ellis novel who is a sociopath (which is the correct term for what people usually refer to as a psychopath). he kills without regard in the most vilest of nature.

From what I gathered, psychopaths do actually identify with morals; they do know right from wrong (the FBI SSA said this); they simply do not care.
Psychopathy is just one of many deviations and disorders of the brain. To say there are just good people and bad people seems to oversimplify the spectrum of human conscience and capability.

This a adeThis is an advertisement for psychiatric and psychologist’s industry!
Wake up men, those so called scientist are unable to cure a mild depression!! You have to be really an arrogant to claim that you can change people personality by using this psychopath check list lol
They discovered that Simpson’s is psychopath when was 48 years, and only after (committing) his crime!!! Shame on you! . In America if don’t you don’t comply the invidious law then you are a psychopath lol
When the police officer kick you ass just say amen !, where to doctor give the wrong prescription just say amen otherwise you will have to get a tranquilizer injection and you will be considered a psychopath.

Fellow psycopath here–but I'm writing about something more important…

Psycopathy is not a newly-occuring "disorder" of any type, but rather a historically successful strategy for survival. Think of psychopathy against the backdrop of history and you will find the correlation between pyschopathy and business less surprising.

This "disorders" are simply a labelling technique used by fellow psychopaths to reduce the competition. You see, the elite psychopaths at the top, like all psychopaths are not 'tamed' and any alteration of new and alleged psychopaths is meant to diminish their ability to 'succeed.' So, continue to take your proprietary psychotropic drugs, suckers!

There is a great mistake in the analysis of the psychopath in that his candour is fabricated.
Psychopaths find gratification in rationalization and this is a form of their emotional intensity. They in a sense empathise with themselves rather than their victims.
The psychopath has substantially animated states and these are expressed in many forms.
Given their intelligence they identify with their own transgressions and identify with
      their understanding of them.
At the heart of the psychopath is an explosive nature which needs venting.
When the anger subsides they identify with the irrationality of their actions.
The case is that at the moment of their wrong doing they experience the momentum of the moment and cannot mediate this.

people are saying that phsycopaths brains are not working properly, all i am saying is that they might be the ones that are working properly, they could still have killer instinc in them like a lion, they still have that survival of the fittest within them and the rest of us have just lost it.
