Shredded

This film brings to mind a certain memory in which I would rather forget. While babysitting my nephew, I believe he was 8 at the time, I caught him in front of a mirror making muscle poses. I had thought okay, it’s natural and sort of cute. I mean my own children “flex their muscles” and growl and they’re only two years old. But then he started sucking in his stomach and I could notice he was really analyzing himself, (he was average, not overweight and not too skinny). I immediately thought oh my gosh really?!? You’re only a child, go play with your toys don’t worry about what you look like.
This film follows a group of teenage boys who embark on a transforming adventure as they attempt to change their bodies. Their mission is to remodel their models to resemble the muscle-filled bodies of their media heroes. Shredded chronicles their journey and uncovers the many risks and dangers they are willing to subject themselves too, in order to reach their goal.
Everything from the temptation of steroids to exploring the use of supplements, this documentary reveals the truth behind their motivations. So you be the judge, are they taking it too far i hopes of becoming Shredded.
