Have you ever laughed at a statement or joke and then shortly after thought, wait a minute that’s not funny. That statement or joke was instead cruel or mean, but yet initially you found it funny, why do you think that is? Why do many of us laugh at sick jokes?

This documentary, Sick Humor is a brief half-hour film full of wisecracks that were created from tragic current events. An example of which tragic events are used would be the Challenger disaster and 9/11 where all of those innocent people were tragically killed.

Sick Humor has been considered tasteless, horrible and somehow funny. This comic takes on ever-lasting social issues and breaking news that spreads like wildfire. The film examines how society finds this sick humor to be funny passes the jokes on , yet they would rather not admit to laughing at it.

It is a low-fi perspective at the sometimes brutal one-liners that are said to emerge from Wall Street. Nameless people were asked to deliver these wisecracks and they speak greatly in a deadpan. Simultaneously running a archived footage of Jeffrey Dahmer in leg irons, undernourished African children, and planes hitting towers among other things. Do you find Sick Humor to be funny?

i watched up to seven minutes, and did not find it funny at all. Joking about the abduction and rape of children is not funny, nor is joking about the holocaust. in fact i did not get one laugh from that whole 7 minutes, and i went in thinking i would. i'm not sure who thinks this is funny?

The jokes were hit and miss…mostly miss…and the commentary provided by experts was common sense…

What is everyone going on about?
This is not actually a comedy show!!!
It is a documentary about ‘sick humour’, as in the phenomenon of people laughing at jokes about misfortune and tragedy. So yeah, some of it is funny, but overall it was kind of boring. Didn’t make it to the end.

Well, I enjoyed it. And some good points were made, I would have liked to see something that was more in depth, but still very informative. Yes, the jokes were clever. I am speaking from a psychologist’s point of view, however. If you want to see some real depravity, go to theync.com and read the video comments. They are some sick mofos.
