Spacechimp

This History Channel feature takes not just the viewers on a galactic adventure, but a chimpanzee? Yes, that’s right Spacechimp is a fascinating documentary about how NASA sent chimpanzees to space for exploration. The film which tells these chimpanzees remarkable story was originally screened in over 20 film festivals, inclusive of the Vancouver Internation Film Festival and the Maryland Film Festival.
With the use of archived footage and photos, the chimp trainers stories, space historians and the many people who battled for the space chimps retirement, Spacechimps covers all aspects of their fascinating tale. It tells the interesting story of the US Air Force space to the early rocket tests, complete to Enos and Ham as they embarked on their revolutionary mission to space.
Spacechimp will take the viewers through the many tragedies and triumphs in which these chimpanzees endured to achieve the success in which they did. Interviews with Dr. Jane Goodall and head of the Save the Chimps sanctuary, Dr. Carole Noon help bring this story to life. Archived footage of President Kennedy’s popular space exploration speech at Rice University is also featured on the film.
Join these chimpanzees as they embark on their ground breaking journey to space!
