Star Stuff

Each night the sky is lit up by a beautiful array of sparkles, but where do they come from? How are these magnificent lights created? Are they full of life? What happens to them when they die? How do they die? Looking up at the remarkably glittering sky sparks so many questions.
This BBC documentary attempts to answer these questions about these mysterious twinkles in the sky in Star Stuff. The episode, part of their Space series that originally aired in 2001 examines how since the Big Bang stars have produced all the chemical elements in the Universe. The Big Bang created only simple elements like hydrogen and helium floating around the Universe, making us wonder there the other elements came from. For example, oxygen and carbon.
Presented by Sam Neil, Star Stuff will fascinate viewers as they’re taken on a galactic adventure exploring the stars. The other episodes in this series are equally as interesting, including Black Holes, New Worlds, Staying Alive, Are We Alone? and Boldly Go. All episodes which aired in 2001 address the many mysteries and phenomena surrounding our galaxy.
Let the BBC take you to the stars and back in this fascinating documentary. Be sure to catch the rest of the episodes as well.
