It's the end of the last ice age. Our ancestors have survived this freezing desolation for 25,000 years. They are hunter-gatherers.They are never able to settle down. But these nomads have changed the world. Their stone-age revolution has made our civilization possible. They had set humanity on a long journey to a modern world.
This documentary explores the revolutionary period of prehistory that began when humans abandoned the nomadic hunting and gathering existence they had known for millennia to take up a completely new way of life – the decisive move to farming and herding the ration of permanent settlements and the discovery of metals – setting the stage for the arrival of the world’s first civilisation.
