      Cosmologists have long said that in time, a force will suddenly come and wipe out the planet Earth. Will all the asteroids and comets that have almost made it to Earth’s surface, cosmologist say that one day, one will likely do just that. These experts calls it the “big rip”, which is a dark energy that brings only nothing but devastation. Combined with the changes the Earth is already experiencing, it seems its time is indeed limited.

      The documentary features some of the possibilities that could happen if the Earth indeed ended. Have NASA and our scientists come up with the best technology to defend our home?

      According to many cosmologists, it is only a matter of time before a cosmic force will annihilate the planet. At this very moment, NASA’s top brass and other scientists are arming themselves with the latest technology to pre-empt an apocalyptic attack.

      How far along are the studies and the experiments so that we can be ready for this scenario? And will its experiments help the whole world or just a chosen few?

      Although I have to say I don't really like these documentaries that are more about generating fear then giving real interesting information.
      "Something will terminate the earth…",
      a little too theatrical for my taste.

      But that's an exception here on doc-log.com. ;-)

      Hi Code7R. I agree. But the Hollywood elements put aside, these threats are pretty real. Earth's history proves this. Most people won't see it because human lifetime is so short. I'm planning to add some new features to the site soon to keep us up to date on these kinds of issues anyway, so stay tuned :) – Tim

      Hi again. Cool, new features, I like new features. ;-)
      But one last note on the doc: Ok, asteroids are a thread, should be taken seriously. Gamma ray bursts are dangerous and powerful, but ice cores show that in the last 4 billion years, earth has never been even close to a gamma ray burst, and they at least said they're infrequent. So no problem there. But the big rip? That's a little far fetched and unlikely to get worried about… :-) (personal opinion)

      Haha, the big rip what a joke!!! I am pretty sure that the big rip is a complete fake and will not happen at all.

      Anyway, asteroids i think are a big threat and could hit us at any time- gamma ray bursts are real but the chance of one hitting the Earth is very small. So Yeah…
