“The Enemy of Reason” is a two-part exposition on the concepts behind psychokinesis, mediumship and acupuncture, specifically areas “”those areas of belief that exist without scientific proof”. Presented by Richard Dawkins, the series aims to points out the highly superstitious stand that have affected our culture.

Dawkins presents some gurus that have influenced some of us to believe without proof and enumerates how this can be dangerous for us.

By comparing some of science’s achievements, including those medical advances that have helped people preserve their life longer, it has made man more learned to benefit what life has to offer.

Dawkins also points to the dangers of astrology, which seems to promote stereotypes without any proof, and then he explores the nature of astrology as well as the paranormal.

Dawkins visits a medium to understand the process of what they do, including some of the misleading tactics they use to let convince people. He also goes to a spritualist church, examining to the point of criticizing their own process.

The second part further explores alternative medicine and Homeopathy and gathers interviews from professors to make his stand against it.

This is a controversial documentary that has divided the views of many.

Well, I really try to keep an open mind, there are more things twixt heaven and Earth..
But Id like to see a team of mystics, psychics, and the like, find there way out of the Simpson Dessert with Tarot cards and clairvoyance, whilst I use a GPS.
It could be an interesting litmus-test,
I suspect that suddenly they might be quite respectful of science.

Beliefs are a substitute for truth. Life is governed by truth, but your experience of life is governed by what you believe. Only nothing is absolutely true.
