      Patrick Deuel was considered as one of the heaviest people alive, when he weighed about 1000lbs and could not stop his desire for food and eating.

      He was at a deadly point. His organs and his heart were already on the verge of collapsing and for the paramadics to bring him to the hospital, a wall had to knocked down from his house in order to take him. Raalizing this, he embarked on a mission to lose weight.

      This documentary, which was aired as part of the Body Shock Series, is an account of the drastic measures Deuel had to go through in order to slim down.

      Deuel worked on his body for months, trying to lose weight so that he can be approved for a gastric bypass operation. A native of Nebraska, Deuel worked in a restaurant as a manager. He started becoming morbidly obese when he refused to go out of his house, and stayed in his bed for 7 years.

      The documentary also presents the moving story of Rosalie Bradford, who lost 900 lbs and was instrumental to Deuel’s decision to lose weight.

      This film presents how they have struggled and succeeded in their quest to be healthy.

      More like weak at stomach. This documentary makes me want to skip meals when I think of it.

      Albeit, this man is of the extreme, obesity is a serious issue in North America as well as in some parts of Europe just as the polar opposite of famine/starvation is also a serious issue. It is easy to judge such a replusive looking person, but one has to understand this diease, they cannot stop eating like a normal person. Usually an obese person will lose the weght, but the brain will fight to get you back to what your predisposition body weight is. It must be horrible to have a life battle of weight issues, especially to this extreme, because people who suffer this, their brain is always telling them they are hungry whether their stomach is full or not.

      What's interesting about all cases of addiction is that there's always an enabler and in this case it's the wife.

      You see this is something I will never understand. That guy said he would sit down and eat 24 pork chops in one sitting. I could not eat 24 pork chops or 22 eggs in one sitting IF I TRIED. There is no way. I would throw up or pass out.

      And how can someone that eats that much not realize it's a problem? Do they really think that sitting down to eat 24 pork chops or hamburgers in one sitting is sane?
