The History of the Devil

In the Christian world, the Devil is known as the enemy of God and lived roughly at the same time, thousands of years ago. Many teachings have implored the Devil as going against God’s teaching, and was, therefore, evil. But this idea, which has been present since time imemmorial, did not originate from the Bible.
History accounts say that the Devil came from Persian beliefs over 3500 years ago. Over time, it has morphed into a creature that had horns and a forked tail and it came with different names in different cultures.
“The History of the Devil” is a study on its origins and concepts. The film is directed by Greg Moodie and written and produced by Dave Flitton, with materials researched by Eibhleann Ni Ghriofa, Deirdre Learmont and Craig McGregor.
This documentary contains accounts and insights from experts who talk about the evolution of the Devil. Where did the specter and horns come from? Why did man thought of such images to symbolize it?
The documentary also presents paintings and other works of art to illustrate the evolution. A re-enactment also keeps this film quite interesting and amusing to watch.
