The discovery of a human skeleton in Indonesia has opened up a bitter debate among experts and scholars of Anthropology into the origins of what is termed as “The Hobbits”. Are these really the remains of a human’s primitive ancestor?

Unearthed in Flores, an island in Indonesia, in 2003, the human remains of what was described as a hobbit-like creature, was believed to be about 12,000 years old.

Its discovery has sparked a bitter debate between anthropologists all over the world. The skeptics say that hobbit-characteristics is actually a rare disease that affects modern humans. They could not accept the argument that hobbits are actually a species called the Homo floresiensis, as its existence changes the long-standing theories that paleoanthropologists have upheld: that the earlier man came from Africa and was an evolution from the Homo erectus.

This documentary, presented by Michael Morwood and Peter Brown, explores in great depth, the hobbit enigma that has baffled a lot of scientists.

“If there was a case where fact is stranger than fiction, this is it.”
      – Richard Dawkins, evolutionary biologist

nice documentary…. i agree with the scientists that we should change our point of view regarding human evolution

I hope you will post this video. The site-link you gave no longer plays the Hobbit Enigma and I've not been able to find it elsewhere.

I assess peoples bodies everyday, there is no one alike, we are short, fat, tall, skinny, differences are normal. We are so diverse, I cannot expect that our early ancestors didn’t start out diversely different. I find that the evolutionists who think like Darwin, that there was some sort of linear development …small to big.. to me we’ve already seen that animals today are smaller than they used to be…so what’s the big deal, unless you have some who want to call the shots from such a few samples, from just bones, no mummies..it fails to convince me that our ancestors were apes. My feeling is that digging up the past is great, we will uncover some lessons about how easily we are biased by our own world view.

It’s incredible to think homo sapiens maybe encounters homo floresiensis!! That is odd ’cause home floresiensis might come from home ergaster!!
In my opinion this doc is repectable indeed and I recommend it!
I hope that in nearly future someone try to explain this enigma! I don’t wanna wait anymore!
