The Iceman Confessions Of A Mafia Hitman

Richard Kuklinski is a known contract killer for the Mafia, specifically for the Gambinos and the Polish Mafia that ruled New York. For over four decades working for them, Kuklinski, who is also known as “The Iceman”, claimed to have murdered 250 people. Many of his victims were locked up in industrial freezers after their death. It was this that has earned him his nickname.
The police caught Kuklinski in 1986, after building a case against him for six years. Charged with murder and robbery, Kuklinski was incarcerated and would have been ineligible for parole until he turned 110 years old.
While in prison, Kuklinski granted interviews and broke his silence about the secrets he knew of the Mafia. He would speak of his activities and of the gruesome ways he would kill his victims. He would also speak about his family and children, as well as the one man whom he believed was the reason why he is in prison. Kuklinski insists that the only friend whom he didn’t kill nor betray, Phil Solimene, was the reason for his downfall.
This documentary, which featured interviews of the man by Park Deitz, was aired on two separate occasions on HBO.
