The Illusion of Reality

“Every man’s world picture is and always remains a construct of his mind, and cannot be proved to have any other existence.” - Erwin Schrödinger
The theories of quantum physics tell us that as far our rational mind is concerned, it is not capable of grasping reality’s true nature.
And as many philosophers and learned experts have also assumed, such as John Locke and Immanuel Kant, what we know as reality only goes as far as our perceptions, triggered by our senses and the things around us and that true reality is beyond us.
Professor Jim Al-Khalili, an expert from the University of Surrey who has produced countless of features on science for the BBC, explores how studying the atom forced us to rethink the nature of reality itself.
He discovers that there might be parallel universes in which different versions of us exist. He also tries to find out if what we perceive as an empty space isn’t empty at all. He further investigates, via this documentary, the differences in our perception of the world in the universe and the reality.
