The Life of Buddha

This documentary is an depth profile on Siddhartha Gautama who is otherwise known all over the world as Buddha.
Born to a privileged life in Nepal, Siddhartha Gautama had a very secluded lifestyle, by virtue of his father’s orders. He was not exposed to the sufferings of other people, nor had little knowledge about the real world and was only used to the extravagant ways of the royals.
He married at the young age, and proceeded to live with his father’s guards protecting him.
By age 29 and curious about what he is missing out on, he ventured into the countryside with his charioteer and was surprised to find the conditions of the men he saw along the way. Some were sick and dying, while others were already dead on the ground.
The experience was an eye-opener for the man who would later renounce his status and instead sought the help of the learned for enlightenment. In his own questions, Buddha began questioning philosphies and teachings and came to his own realizations, which would later be the foundation of Buddhism.
For the rest of his life, Buddha devoted his cause to teaching and enriching others who were once lost like him.
This is his story.
