Urbanization has its downside. By adding more structures and buildings, people also tend to cut down on naturaly resourcers, like trees and plants. Proponents of the green movement now question the way architects, engineers and contractors build a site, and wonder if there is an innovative way to erect a building or a house, without adding to the negative impact we create on the environment.

Thus, the push for a more sustainable way to building was hatched. This documentary features some of the greatest examples of sustainable architecture led by Norman Foster and Will Alsop in the UK, Francois Tirot and Laurent-Marc Fisher in France, Werner Sobek and Stefan Benish in Germany and the Netherlands.

It presents the projects that they have handled where sustainability and use of green products was adapted. The film is also supported by interviews from key figures in the hopes of giving viewers a better understanding of what it is to live green and why it is important in today’s lifestyle.

"The sustainable city" was unfortunately less interesting that expected – and for Christ's sake, please use subtitles instead of dubbing the soundtrack!
Probably very informing and interesting for arcitects, though.
