Most people have this aspiration of being fit and slim. Some have an endless obession for it, that dieting is not just a way to keeping the body healthy. It has already become a lifestyle. There are diet fads that people get into without necessarily understanding what it can do the body.

This documentary attempts to show the ways in which people can stay slim without necessarily giving up certain foods. Discussed in a parts, the documentary outlines how our body works to find the best ways to stay slim.

A well made documentary, but unfortunatly, very inaccurate and They are looking at the amount of calories people are eating without regard to the kind of food?
And dont be decieved, the whole idea about Calories IN Vs. Calories OUT is wrong. The human body maintains a balance based on the laws of thermodynamics. Trying to lose weight by simply expending more calories than you eat has never worked, does not work, and will NEVER work.

Interesting documentary even though it is aimed at the more common of our species. The tests were simply unscientific.

You idea about thermodynamics is wrong actually, energy in the human body has an intermediate stage of storage in fat, which means that at the time of release (exercise) the amount that is ready to be spent if actually much higher then your immediate intake that day.

If your idea was correct, people would be unable to lose weight from malnourishment and slow starvation, which is obviously not the case.

always worked for me man, your opinion lacks emperical knowldge, you need to get up from couch to see results. i am eating chips and sodas ,alot of white bread and i lost 4 kilos because my energy demands are higher than what i eat this last month

Yeah I’m sure you know better than professors and scientists.

Interesting and entertaining documentary, thought it was informative in some areas especially with the high-calcium diet/fat excretion bit and the soup experiment. Will definitely be using some of these tips. I was surprised that they left out the importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy weight…in my experience having a sedentary lifestyle + high calorie foods has always lead to weight gain. On the other side of that, I’ve seen increased exercise – cardio and weight training mixed with somewhat proper dieting having a dramatic affect…and about the plateaus she was experiencing…the only way anybody can break through them is by regular exercise and a proper diet, but the changes she did make obviously have started her on an overall lifestyle change rather then a fad diet like she mentioned in the beginning. +++/5

It is most true that eliminating carbs will help you to loose weight and basically get to a normal weight if your overweight.
      -cut out candy/cookies/cake
      -cut out carbs
-don’t eat more than 2 small meals a day with mostly meat and vegetables
and your weight should go to normal
i’m 6 and I went from 180, slightly overweight, down to 160 after 6 months. I did start eating candy again and am back at 170 but hey i’m normal weight now, so…

You can’t draw scientific conclusions from one case study, as in the two girls at the beginning or the guys eating pasta. There are so many factors that could be involved… I suffer from a hormone deficiency (T3) and have had an underactive thyroid all my life, resulting in an ongoing battle with my weight. I’ve been everything between 64kg and 102kg since I was a teenager. These documentaries stating “If you’re fat, you eat too much” make me angry – whilst it might sometimes be the case, it’s clearly not always the truth, and it fuels the righteous superiority of naturally thin people and high school bullies.

Yes, obviously eating less and doing exercise means you’ll lose weight, but it’s NOT the same with all people, numerous scientific studies have proven this: studies far more conclusive than “we tested two blonde chicks so we know this to be true for the entire global population…”
