John Lennon was not just a music icon and a superstar who was part of the famed Beatles band. He was also an advocate of peace and this is film is a story about his ideologies and advocacies.

In the early 70′s, John Lennon has been tagged as a political threat by the United States and was attempted to be silenced by the government leaders of that time. He and his wife, Yoko Ono, were staunch activists, who were actively protesting against war. And perhaps because many listened, there were reports that say Lennon and his supporters caused paranoia and fear. Because of this, the US government wanted to deport him, as if to say that his stay in America is no longer welcomed.

The documentary exposes the lengths the CIA and the police had to go in order to discredit John Lennon and his supporters over their protests, and may have incited that Lennon was battling with drug abuse.

Using old footages of interviews, as well as analyzing Lennon’s songs at that time, this documentary tries to recapture John Lennon’s attempts to stop the war in Vietnam and uphold peace.

      Give peace a chance…my butt.

Had I not watched an interview of Julian Lennon, John Lennon's son from his first marriage I would have thought John was some kind of divine hippy prophet. The reality is John was an alcoholic and brushed his first wife and son off to the side to pursue his career as a musician. John Lennon once said Julian “came out of a whiskey bottle on a Saturday night.”

Hey, spacebunny – John Lennon, like anybody that ever lived, was capable of both failure and success in his private and public life. It's easy to forget that great artists, politicians and other famous people are fallible… all subject to the human condition like all of us.

I'm 6 minutes into this film and I've already learned that John Lennon grew out of the same family background as Julian… Unwanted and abandoned.

I guess even celebrities are bound by the same set of rules that us lesser known individuals are bound by.

The abused become the abuser (often but not always).

They killed him. One more reason the world should be ashamed of the USA.

i love this mans music. its such a shame that so long after his death.the message still has not sunken in even though it rings just as true today.

seeing how easily Nixon got re-elected makes me wonder how many of those in the peace protests went to vote. It's great to speak up against what you feel is an injustice but if you don't use your rights to change things, you're bordering on hypocrisy

America's goal to control the world behind closed doors…

I love this movie. It was not love at first sight for me, I was just born around the time of the John Sinclair protest.
Seeing that all of John's songs were purposeful, he was using his talent to express himself fully, these were direct messages, not flip pop rock gimmicks. He sang what he meant and meant what he sang.
Declare Peace, War is over is one of the most beautiful ideas ever, the billboard campaign.
The world is not any more peaceful now, there is no one with the status of John Lennon doing anything about it.
The most famous and powerful celebrities today are agents of the government.
I discovered yesterday Chemtrails. An overt lace pattern being constructed right above my head.
Shouldn't we all be phoning Homeland Security, ringing them off the hook, or grabbing police officers and pointing up asking them to protect us as we are being assaulted presently. What's the color code for today's terror threat? It's sky blue.

It's hard to believe that John would have said such a hurtful thing about any human. Maybe he was referring to the act itself. Either way, we are all just as fragile and vital as John was. Say what you think, if that makes you an artist, so be it. Don't let the day scare you away. We need help now more than ever. Don't run from the fragile, join the vital.

I am a Brazilian who lives in the Northeast Region and found that this documentary is very inspiring. To watch it, through your website, gave me a chance to face a production which would get a long time to arrive here. The message of peace and activism is all that we need.
I hope John and Yoko’s ideas will stay on the Earth forever and decrease the gap between the have and have not.
      Many thanks for post it.
