This four part documentary series on torture demonstrate the wide reach of the US in its war on terror. Some images might be shocking for some of you, but I haven’t really come across extreme stuff. It’s just a documentary about torture politics and the bad behavior of guards and soldiers.

The United States – with Britain looking on – is torturing prisoners to fight the war on terror. But does torture work and can it ever be justified? Our leaders tell us it’s just a matter of time before there’s a ticking terrorist bomb in the middle of London which could wipe out thousands. Since 9/11 the US and UK governments have passed harsh laws supposedly to keep us safe. America has set up prison camps in Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay where terrorist suspects presumed guilty are tortured for confessions and intelligence.

Not only in terrorist prison camps, but torture is also commonplace in USA’s overcrowded and understaffed prisons. Prisoners are severely beaten up, humiliated and sometimes fatally wounded. The documentary suggests that the cause is not a few ‘bad apples’, but a pervasive culture of dehumanisation and brutality.
