If you were trying to watch undefeated – the producers, at least – accept their well deserved Oscars – then you were probably surprised to hear the Undefeated Producers/Directors not thank the high school and coach that the documentary follows.
Today, the producers took time address this oversight to blame the Academy for cutting them off mid-speech.

“We were so absolutely devastated that they cut us off, because we had a whole thing we wanted to say about Manassas High and Memphis and Bill and O.C. and Money and Chavis,”

Bill is the businessman/volunteer coach who inspires the last-place team by changing what they are fighting to accomplish.

Half way through the acceptance speech, with plenty of time to go,  an F-Bomb was said and the Oscar producers cued the exit music.

“We want to thank everyone who deserves to be thanked. They are the true heroes and the Academy robbed them of their moment.”
