Walking With Beasts

A documentary series done in six parts, this was originally aired in the BBC in 2001 with Kenneth Branagh as its narrator. The series was also done in the United States under the Discovery Channel and had Stockard Channing lending her voice.
It tackles the Cenozoic era, otherwise known as the Age of Mammals, which is a period after the dinosaurs have become extinct. The documentary tries to recreate their world using state-of-the-art graphics and animation. It also has a short discussion on how the homo sapien has evolved into a more sophisticated creature.
Some 49 million years ago, with the extinction of the dinosaurs, mammals apparently grew in small groups to form what would be terrestrial mammals, marine mammals, and those flying in the atmosphere. It also became a period for when flowers and insects became co-existent, and the growth of beautiful grass, allowing many animals to feed on it. It also triggered the evolution of other creatures like snakes and rodents, their primary prey.
The Cenozoic era was an age of hope after a massive destruction that almost wiped out the Earth. With the climate cooling down and changing, it became a period of adjustment and adapting to how we come to know the world today.
