Welcome To North Korea
“Welcome to North Korea” is an award-winning documentary film from Peter Tetteroo and Raymond Feddema. The two spent weeks in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, and was able to shoot some of the most disturbing images that we don’t really get to see about this country.
Many of its common citizens are living under conditions that may be unacceptable to the world, when what we’re seeing based on news their government controls are buildings, places and other establishments that belie what is really happening in North Korea.
The filmmakers also go deep to reveal that their citizens are hardly aware of what is happening in the world around them, as news is cut-off and travel is limited or quite expensive.
All around, it’s easy to spot the statue and images of its long-time leader and dictator Kim Jong II. He truly has power over his subjects, much comparable to a god.
This documentary is like a bad fairy tale you wish did not really happen. But it is real and it is still happening, but there is not much the world can do as its communist leader really has a hold of everything in North Korea.
