Very interesting, but the music is appalling – far,far too loud, very intrusive, overcomes the commentary. Who thinks this is good? who allows it – it destroys the message!
Excellent documentary
Another tabloid video and a total waste of money by National Geographic. Instead of the misleading title, about which we learn nothing new, they feature this 5-10-15 mickey mouse archeologist telling us how hard it is to excavate sites as he is sitting watching the real workers sweat and doing all the digging.
How exciting it is to end up as most NG videos do, with nothing, as they try to make us forget at the conclusion the reason why this video was funded in the first place by never telling us what happened to the dig they just spent millions on for NOTHING.
I would never give a penny to the NG Society as they fund only for sensationalism and tabloid journalism. The worst of the worst.
I completely agree with Gary about the archaeologist not digging himself, sitting back talking about how hard it is while all the locals do the hard work. I’m an archaeology student and when I get a chance to excavate a site, I guarantee you I’LL BE DIGGING
This is another example of why National Geographic is the leader in their feild. This Documentary was beautifully done, and rather than trying to force some conclusions on us that are not warranted, seeks to focus on the future of this excavation and the over-riding neccesity to save this site from outside incursion, before these important questions are answered. I guess these fellas (above) think the quarterback should catch the ball after he throws it, and do the blocking too. And maybe Colonel Sanders should do his fair share of delivering the chicken. Are you guys for the communist division of labor, or do you just hate all gov. funded entities? And are there smart people on your planet?
