very good documentary.
I was suprised to see that the doctors did not find out and miss the people that had problems but thought that some did had problems and did not have any… make you wonder…and they had a 50% chance to find out, !!!!
PS… don`t tell me Im crazy … I already knwo……….
……just jocking.
just goes to show you, science is more art than science.
Who was the nutty one?
Joe,
I will agree that the application of psychotherapy and psychiatry require some artistic license, but to say that science is an art is totally incorrect.
This was a very enjoyable doc.
I loved how strong the line was drawn between what's on the surface versus what happens underneath.
It also made it very clear to me that a large part of doctors and psychiatrists knowing that something is wrong is the fact that the patient knows that something is wrong. It's really just up to the doctors to figure out what.
Despite the findings of this experiment I really can't reject therapy altogether. These volunteers were at point in their lives going through personal crises, they got help for it, and now they are no different than people with a history. I think that actually exonerates the the psychology profession. People are resilient and I think therapy helps speed along the recovery.
spacebunny, I would Totally agree with you. and like me I have adhd but Im totally different now then yeah just like a year ago.
