The Enigma of Venus

Please share your thoughts on the documentary that you've just seen. Love it? Hate it? The best documentaries are the ones that stimulate debate within yourself. Share your thoughts!

Im surprised to hear that they still have found active volcanoes on Venus when of course the atmosphere of Venus requires a source of where it comes from or else it would all dicipate away. But of course its coming from somewhere or else the thick clouds wouldn't be there. So I think Nasa should send over info red satelite to look for active volcanoes to find out where all the thick clouds are coming from. It doesnt make sence that Venus would have such thick clouds but not have a source because originaly they though active volcanoes were the source but when they scaned Venus they couldnt even find one active Volcanoe. So they still have alot of mysteries to solve about our neighboring planets. I just wish this would wasnt so ignorant and selfish so more money could be investing into finding out about the universe.
Seriously, who cares about Venus. Instead of spending all that precious money on really important thins like GOING TO MARS and checking out that moon where there might be an ocean beneath it , they spend it on this shit. Crap
I tend to agree with Alen; far too much money is spent on "knowledge for knowledge's sake".
I've seen too many absurd things like hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on the science of stacking oranges!
2000 years ago the pure research being done by the minds of the time could not have understood the impact that information would have.
To stall or restrict pure science and gathering of information only leads to the long-term retardation of discovery.
Most of our advances in science today rely on the discoveries and observations made over the last several thousand years. Without that information we would not have a rich data set to compare current observations.
Comments about the science of "Stacking Oranges" may seem wastefull in the current context. However in 300 years time the information garnered from just that experiment may result in a new method of stacking atoms efficiently to make a new type of propellant for travel. And while it may cost $200k today, imagine the cost to conduct the same research in the future.
As to spending monies on Mars and the Moon, well just the comments about the identification of the causes of the damage to the Ozone on our planet was as a direct result of the observations made on Venus.
Why do we all assume the future can only be found in one location? Do we only teach Language in our schools and ignore mathematics because everyone needs to communicate in language more then numbers. And leave the number learning to those that really need it? We cant focus on only one thing. We need to look in as many directions as we can at the same time. Otherwise we would still only be looking at the moon and believing the earth was the centre of the universe.
Explore, discover, question, learn is to live with excitement and wonder.
I am glad we as an instance in time, did not follow your method of thinking, or you would not have a medium to express your views.
Stay safe, Dream big, and Smile.

First 15 min where interesting. Then Kirk goes of a cliff into conjecture and the lunatic global warming hoax. Venus was like earth! No evidence but let's stop exhaling CO2 and worship Al Gore. Maybe Richard Hogland can find SUV tracks.
